Something to keep in mind on that quote from the GA about cola drinks giving you "a lift"--while that of course could certainly refer to caffeine, I believe the time in which he spoke it was when there was actual *cocaine* in coca cola (talk about a lift!!)-which I think we can all agree would definitely be against the WofW.
For myself, I *avoid* caffeine. The only time I'll really ever get it is when we're on a car trip, and I want it to prevent drowsiness. That and about once/year (literally, only about once) I'll crave a fountain cherry coke from a certain place in town, but it takes about 15 min. to get there so it's not a strong temptation.
I don't think caffeine is against the word of wisdom, but I still don't drink it. I don't like how I feel after consuming it, and it makes it hard for me to sleep.
Bloggers Dr. B. and Bored in Vernal debate Mormon issues here on "He Said/She Said." Dr. B. comes from a very conservative standpoint--Ezra Taft Benson and Boyd K. Packer are his heroes! BiV has liberal, feminist, pacifist sympathies. We'd love for you to leave us some comments and join in the conversation!

There are some benefits, but ultimately I just don't think Caffeine is healthy--not the least of which is the number it does on our brains.

ReplyDeleteThere is something wrong with this poll. I voted Drink and not against WOW, but it is still 0%...
ReplyDeleteAnon, the result is shown directly BENEATH the question. (I know, it's not real clear.)
